On the CBC noon hour program here in Saskatchewan they are talking about guess what? The need for proportional representation. Yup. Despite Mother Corps best efforts, the natural governing party did not win the prize. It must be the system. After all, Conservatives should cannot be allowed to hold the seat of power.

Hey, off topic but I hope everyone is glued to their tv's watching the CBC's great election coverage. Looks like a minority but the mandate is clearly Conservative. I have confidence in my country and I am very happy.

And yes, I've heard of the Black Death and its visitations on Europe and other places. Have you heard of any since about the 14th Century? Hygiene and sanitation improvements. Right. Next question!

And the comments to the article are even worse. One asserts that the "true" rumor was that it was a chemical or biological attack. Do you think that Iran would have won the Iraq-Iran war in the '80's if Hussain's chemical warfare actually worked? Chemicals are useful in only two circumstances: (1) Against military targets who will not move away from the chemical as it's released; and, (2) against anyone, especially civilians, who are in an enclosed area and are physically unable to move away from the material. Biologicals? You might as well try to start a rabies edipemic by biting your mailman as by exploding anything biological, as the temperature of the exposion is going to sterilize your "weapon". Other dispersal methods simply don't work; look up a factual history of the African ebola epidemic and you'll see that even natural diseases in their most favorable environment cannot spread catastrophically. Too much TV; not enough science and math!!

Rather like the people at the gas station I work at: when they lock the handle in the full open position - relying upon the "automatic" release to close the nozzle when the tank is full, about one time in four it fails to operate. Of course, the fault is mine in the store and/or the company who owns the store for failing to conduct proper maintenance. Never themselves who walked off and left a piece of stupid metal unsupervised. Training accidents are like that fuel nozzle release: they always happen at the worst time and are inescapable.

And what were you expecting? These are the people whose parents supported Ho Chi Mihn, whose grandparents excused Stalin's mass murders, whose great-grandparents wrote the Jim Crow laws and organized the KKK. In truth; in reality; not in someone's dreams. Those are the historical facts. Today's "progressives", "environmentalists", "homosexual activists", etc .. in short, Democrats, are the spiritual and intellectual heirs to Woodrow Wilson.
